[SOLVEM3 HDD Built on Different PC Won't Connect to Internet

Postby Garthhh » Jul 5th, '13, 18:21

Both PC's are
HP dc5000 sff, 32 bit

I did the initial dual arch build from cd
installed the stuff I like, updated
the hdd boots up fine & connects to the network, but not the internet
won't connect to the update site or any browser

I went to the network center disconnect/connected a few times, in combination with restarts
the connection is automatic, nothing special

there is probably a configuration file the needs deleting
suggestions

I assume both machines are of the same hardware and hardware configuration.

Now according to your words you shouldn't be able to connect on either! Then why don't you check your router, modem, DNS, gateway.

If your router is properly connected then it is just the DNS maybe..Is it DHCP or manual configuration?

I can't understand this.

1. Is your network configuration manual or DHCP?
2. Can you connect through the router to Internet on some other machine?
3. What is your DNS?

My problem is I installed M3 on a hdd on one pc
when I try to use this on a different pc, I connect to the network, but not the internet

Please show the contents of
Code: Select all
/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules

and the output of
Code: Select all
ifconfig
