[SOLVED] Skype repo

Postby mackowiakp » May 25th, '13, 09:01

Is it possible to add Skype repo to repository list of Mageia? I think about something similar to adding Google Chome, Earth and Music repos. My question is because after "urpmi skype" the "getskype" command is installed from Mageia repo and Skype is not automatically upgraded to newer version when it come. For example "getskype" install Skype ver 4.1 but the new one is 4.2.
Any solution?

Skype 4.2 is not available for Mageia 3. There are no security bugs listed so there is no point to update it for Mageia 3. At least not yet.. If you still want to install and test it you can get it from cauldrons repo (it's just a downloader package so it will work on Mageia 3 too). You can get it from here: http://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/p ... noarch.rpm

Thanks! Your explanation explains the lack of a newer version of Skype in official M3 repo.
