I want to create an open share access to all - I created it shared it, checked the public, writable, & visable boxes. I can see the share & open it on my other machines byt can not create/delete files on it without logging on with credentials.

any help would be appeciated.

When you setup samba via MCC did you do select user level access or share level access ?

It defaults to user. just go to samba server >> configure to redo the original wizard. Set to share level, then restart samba
