I have installed MGA3 alpha 2 from DVD-Live KDE 64.
the initramfs takes about 25s.
In Mageia 2, it takes 5s only.

you may try to rebuild your initrd
- Code: Select all
dracut -f -H --xz
for windows problems reboot; for linux problems be root

Thanks a lot.
The solution with dracut worked fine. The initramfs is yet 4 seconds.
The errata cites the problem after an upgrade. but this is not my case. I installed from DVD-Live.
Must I understand that the normal process generates a new initram, but in some cases, this steps fails?

i think installing from live media generates also a more generic initrd like an upgrade.
for windows problems reboot; for linux problems be root
