Hi,
Is it safe to upgrade zone minder to the latest version ?
If so how and what is the best / easiest way ?
Thanks.

What exactly do you mean by latest version?
Cauldron is not for the faint of heart!
Caution: Hot, bubbling magic inside. May explode or cook your kittens!

the version that is the latest rather than a previous version as distributed by Mageia.
as in my previous conversation with the person who so kindly has sorted out zone minder for Mageia, who I have communicated with regarding support for eyeZM etc…
Thanks

Hi,
The version in Cauldron is a recent snapshot from mtk's git, with the de-interlacing option, however it is patched for the new versions of ffmpeg and gcc that are in Cauldron and would be incompatible with Mageia2. It also requires extra fields in the mysql database.
Better really to wait for Mageia3 :)
