Gnome-Shell User Theme Extension

Postby mmesantos1 » May 25th, '12, 17:25

Hello,
I just installed Mageia 2 x64 Gnome-Shell and I am unable to get the User Theme Extension to work, when I turn it on Gnome-Tweak will not open. I have to disable the extension in order for Gnome Tweak to work. I have installed the extension from this link: https://extensions.gnome.org/#

Is there a user theme extension in the Repo, if there is I could not find it by searching for it. I had the same issue in Ubuntu but they had a PPA I could use to install a working version of this extension. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.

Also this is my first post on this forum and first time installing Mageia, other than the issue I am asking you about the OS is working great so thank you the devs for making a great OS. :D

Hello,
I have got the same problem although I tried to install the "User Themes" from "https://extensions.gnome.org". Looking for details and possible solution on the web I found that the Glib-2.32.3 seems not to be installed but is required (?!). It also seems that "glib-networking-2.32.3-1.mga3.x86_64.rpm" could be found on Mageia Cauldron Free repo... But I'm new with Mageia and don't know how to ad the repo !?
May be, is this there the solution but I'm sure since I have not yet tested it...

Concerning your remark about "great support".
Don't forget you are asking questions to people like yourself.
Everybody is here on a voluntary base, no-one is paid for any job, Mageia is NO commercial organization.
Mageia is us: you, me and all the other volunteers around, helping each other out, where possible.

Therefore contributing would be better, then trying to point fingers.

Thank you and a good day! ;)

Here is a quick 'n dirty fix that might work.
Create a new user - log in as that user - and try again!
You might find something here too
