[SOLVED] Panda Wireless N USB Adapter

Postby netwaves » Jun 9th, '12, 18:48

First - I'm new to blogs and/or support forums so please be patient. :-)

I've just tried to install a Panda Wireless N USB Network Adapter in a fresh install of Mageia 2. The install seemed to go fine but I can't get a list of SSIDs to connect to and I have errors in var/log/messages pertaining to the adapter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

01. The Network Center shows Wireless (Wi-Fi) Raling 802.11 n WLAN but Refresh shows no SSIDs available to connect to.
02. The Hardware Control Center shows
Code: Select all
 - Ethernetcard - 802.11 n WLAN
      Ralink
      802.11 n WLAN
      USB
      Bus PCI #: 5
      PCI device #: 7
      Vendor ID: 0x148f
      Device ID: 0x3070
      Module: rt2800usb

03. /var/log/messages shows the following:
Code: Select all
localhost kernel : [5117.129877] phy3 -> rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Error - Failed to request Firmware.

04. lscpi has no entry for wiress|wlan|wifi
05. iwconfig shows no wireless extensions

I'm not sure where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
