then using official distribution packages? I fail to see the advantages in your approach.
And you say you don't know what these repositories are for, but you prefer to not have them listed to the final user? Huh?
I totally agree with you! Still, I don't prefer anything called
TESTING, the official release always has problems, minor or major, and we all try to find a solution for that, why should I depend on a testing package? Unless of course, maybe due to my ignorance with the repository system, testing means something other than testing then..!
I never linked to my site, BTW it is my personal site..but when someone asked me for a package I made I cannot but offer..If you check it, it is in pure Arabic, not advertised no publicity and the packages are lying there for my own convenience, no more no less.
For your packaging problem, could you please attach your jre.spec and please tell again what you want to compile
and which instructions you use for that? For me it's not clear from your descriptions, do you want to package Oracle JRE, by any chance?
What for?
I am not trying to compile a package..just trying to package Oracle JRE..why? you asked! Well simply because I use some government and banking sites that exclusively work with Oracle's JRE.. Do you think I like it the hard way??
