Mageia not detecting Android Tablet.

Hi,

I just got an Acer A500 Android Tablet.

I conected the USB cable from the Tablet to Mageia and Mageia Doesn't even know is there.

I hooked it up on windows and it mounts as a USB drive.

Is there anything I need to install in Mageia so it will recognize it?.

1. Disconnet your tablet.
2. Open a konsole window and become root (with 'su' and give root password when prompted)
3. give the command:

Code: Select all

tail -f /var/log/messages

4. Now plug in your tablet and post here what you see is coming on in /var/log/messages.

Out of curiosity, is the tablet for development purposes, or just for connection?
If it's for development I more or less struggled through this issue myself.

If it's for connection purposes, some of the same udev information mentioned above is useful, but the Android ID is going to be different, and you probably will be using some other programs to speak to the tablet other than eclipse or android's adb server.
