Hardware - Whole lot of packages for installation

Hi Folks,

An interesting question I use Mageia 64 on my laptop and it works a treat however; I've just done a clean install after experimenting. My question is that although everything is up-to-date when I open up hardware from MCC it wants to load a whole load of additional packages - predominantly pulse stuff at I586 build. Should I install it? Do I need it? or should I just ignore it.

Best regards
Jim

Well, that depends. Do you use some 32bit applications, like Skype or Flashplayer 32bit or something the like? Then you need it.
As a sidenote, i think it also wants to install nspluginwrapper, but don't know where that comes from, as this has nothing to do with hardware support.

I guess what's throwing me here is that the updater does not require additional packages - It's happy. It's just when I open hardware from the MCC it want's to pull in additional packages. Is this correct or it it just a hardware button issue type thing?

I guess I'll go with it after all its all part of the learning cycle.....

Well, that's the purpose of the updater, only updating installed packages.
And for the other part, there's a bugreport about it: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1430
Here it also wants to install ndspluginwrapper, but i don't need it.
