[SOLVED] Links not working in Thunderbird 31.7 ESR

Oops, originally posted in the wrong forum...sorry about that!


Ok, I have installed Mageia 5 (even before it was officially announced - found it on a mirror!) 64 bit. I have both Firefox and Thunderbird installed.
However, clicking on a link in Thunderbird does NOT cause it to open in Firefox. This setup was working before (I had FF 38 and I don't remember what version of T-Bird on Mageia 4.) I couldn't find any recent info at mozilla.org. Also, right clicking to "open a link in browser window" doesn't work, either.

I de-installed T-bird and re-installed it. No change, except it asked me to install a Chinese(!) version along with the English version! Odd...

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Mageia 5 is GREAT! Well worth the wait!

You're using the Mageia packages both for firefox and thunderbird? Also, what desktop environment do you use?
Please show the output of the following commands run as normal user:

echo $BROWSER produces : user/bin/www-browser

up to the word "done" - I'm assuming that's the end of the script- the results are: userapp-Firefox-A00SYW.desktop

the gconf entries produce : /home/loyd/firefox/firefox %s

Now that I think of it, I had installed Firefox 38 (32 bit version under Mageia 4). I'll try deleting that.

Good news! Deleting my old Firefox directory has fixed the problem. Apparently, Doktor5000 *IS* a genius! Thank you very much!

Next time please post the complete output, and not only mention what you see, that helps greatly.
