[Solved] Open Thunar as root.

Postby Citroen » Apr 25th, '15, 14:10

Hi all,

I'm used to a feature where I can open Thunar as root with just a rightclick.
In Thunar I go to, edit and configure custom actions.

In there I create a new one.

Normally, it looks like this and it opens gedit, but gksu doesn't seem to work with Mageia. (It is in Dutch, but I think it is clear what I mean)
What is the correct command?

No I didn't install gksu, thought it wasn't working with Mageia, I'll give it a try.
(Why didn't I find this link myself... )

Thanks.

I only have to find out how to do this with folders, gksu thunar, gksu thunar %f doesn't do the job.

Nope, both possibilities won't open thunar.

The same feature works in Manjaro, there I have gksu thunar only, no %f or %N

No clue, you may have to ask in XFCE forums for that.

What configuration do we miss in particular? The last post only mentions the custom actions that Manjaro provides by default: https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?top ... 51#msg6651
The problem there was caused by the OP typing "Thunar" instead of "thunar" - linux is case sensitive after all, there is no command "Thunar".
