My wife gave me a palm tungsten e2 for xmas. Prefer a PDA to a cellphone. ;>}

I installed "jpilot" through add/remove software. When I try to conect and sync this is the error I get

I have setup visor right, I believe, and am running out of ideas.
Does anyone else run jpilot?

So no issues there. Can you please show the output of

Maybe you need to add your user to the dialout and usb groups, and then logout and login again.
You should also try to stop the colord service, from your first output it might seems that it could interfere. As root do

The reason for the email request is I only check yahoo once in awhile as it is noy my main email now. ;>}

I went to that jpilot bug site but it wants a login immediatly with no way to register. {

That is not an error, only an informational message and will be shown for all USB devices which do not support the MTP protocol.

Your device seems to be detected, and the visor module is loaded. Check some more guides like

Don't take this wrong but to my point of view the "Media Transport Protocol" MTP is what is preventing me from finnaly geting things working. I have searched many times for stuff relating to this protocol. The hits are 80 to 90% windows or Ubuntu, when I try to do things that the Ubuntu hits suggest like " sudo apt-get install libmtp, mtptools, etc" through add/remove software they are not found.
I have not had time to hit all your links but the Unbuntu one was talking about udev rules and other stuff I am not sure apply to Mageia anymore.

I will keep plugging away and let you know if I have a question.
