Hello.

Is there any CAD (computer-aided design) application to for architectural drawings in Mageia or compatible with Mageia?
I see there is LibreCAD, but it is only 2D and I don't know if it is good for architecture.

Hi,
Here is how I proceed:
- one 2D DXF drawing per floor with LibreCAD (I actually got that from an architect who used a tripod camera to generate part of them)
- import in SweetHome3D of a scanned drawing or the DXF itself (it is also working with one layer/level = one floor)
- creation of the 3D model in SweetHome3D, adding furniture, and rendering photo&videos

SweetHome3D is really great. It is built mostly for interior design but with some tricks, I could create a full exterior view.
I believe export capabilities of SweetHome3D are limited to OBJ for use in a more sophisticated rending tool such as Blender
So I don't think it is possible to export back to DXF.

For an even more professional application I am only aware of Cycas. It is not packaged in Mageia, actually not sure it is even free (as in free speech or as in free beer).
