How to convert boot disk to GPT format?

About to take my first steps into the UEFI world having read a bit about it and have a series of questions.
gdisk is available in Mageia 4 but it is my understanding that the conversion of the boot disk has to be done externally, from a live disk for instance. So the question is, is there a live disk available which contains gdisk or one of the other GPT partitioning tools?

The system to be converted has three hard disks with single partitions on each for /, /home and /data. At this stage I am assuming that the home and data disks do not need to be modified.
The forums have threads concerning GPT partitioning but as far as I can see all the queries relate to issues beyond the initial type conversion.

Yes, thanks, I found one or two guides like those. Once I have prepared a live medium I shall have a go at the conversion and document it here. An EFI bootable system would be useful platform for iso testing.

FWIW, you can also do that in virtualbox.

Once booted into a live ISO you can add medias and install software in the live environment.
