[SOLVED] Dolphin won't open

I installed Mageia KDE 4.1 yesterday on an Asus A55A laptop. I was able to open Dolphin prior to installing updates, but now it refuses to open.

The update manager gives me this error message:
Code: Select all
-dolphin-4.12.5-1.1.mga4.x86_a64 (due to conflicts with ruby-2.0.0.p598-1.mga4.x86_64)

Strangely, Konqueror won't browse files either, giving me this error message:
Code: Select all
There was an error loading the module Dolphin View.
The diagnostics is:
Cannot load library /usr/lib64/kde4/dolphinpart.so: (/usr/lib64/kde4/dolphinpart.so: undefined symbol: _ZN26DolphinNewFileMenuObserver6detachEPK12KNewFileMenu)

I did a brief web search, and couldn't find any references to this problem. If anyone has any suggestions for what I can do to get Dolphin working again, I would appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Chris Adams.

Hi,

I've had the same issue, that after installing updates Doplhin wouldn't open. My problem was that the update manager did not install all of the updates provided, because my sources list was messed up or something.

So the thing I did was:
1) Go to Mageia control center
2) Configure media sources for install and update
3) I selected all of the sources there and just removed them
4) I pressed add and the manager added all of the new sources automaitcally. (If u need video and audio codecs, dont forget to turn on 'tainted' in these newly added sources)
5) I went into 'Update your system', and the manager installed some new updates,
6) I reeboted and Dolhpin worked.

Hope this helps
