My wife gave me a palm tungsten E2 for xmas. The palm desktop only has windows and mac install files.
I am running Mageia 4 64 bit.
I installed Wine but when I start the config for wine I get a very small, 1/2 inch by a little over 1/2 inch window.

Does Wine run on Mageia and has anyone got it running??

How exactly did you "start the config for wine" ? Did you run winecfg? Please post the exact command and all output that you got.
Also, which wine packages do you have installed currently?

will show that.

Yes and yes, certainly. Running fine here since Mageia 1 and earlier. Running windows steam version so I can run most
of my windows games from a linux session, without rebooting.

Most of the errors are complaining about PNGencoder?
I get the same small window.
I have tried wine for the kobo desktop and now the palm desktop and have never been able to get Wine to work.

You have both wine32 and wine64 packages installed? Both conflict with each other.
You're also missing the main wine package. Please remove wine64 and install wine.
How do you install wine usually?

Well please understand that I really appreciate your help, I started fixing computers in 1961 when they still had tube's in them, now I am 73 and do not sleep well.
So when I go to add\remove software and put in Wine and it installs both I am expecting everything will get installed right.

How do I get rid of the 32 bit version? When I go back to add\remove software it just shows the 64 bit versioon?

You should remove the 64bit version, not the 32bit one. wine64 is for Win64 programs and usually has issues with normal windows 32bit programs.

Please do the following as root

Code: Select all: urpme wine64 --auto urpmi wine wine-gecko wine-mono --auto

If you want to remove wine64 via the GUI, then make sure the filter is set to "All" instead of "packages with GUI". Afterwards install wine.

It appears that the palm desktop installed, I just need to get it setup. AS soon as I have gotten everything runing I will mark the post solved.
I assumed that the 64 and 32 bit wines refered to linux os, silly me.

Well it is no go with the original palm software, have to reboot windows etc. It looks like HP bought palm, but their site is not up yet, maybe they will do a open source versio. ;>}
I found a java and a pearl version I am going to play with.
marking it solved.
