I'm having a prolem with Konquer again. I'm in the process of reuilding my machine for the second time in as many weeks. Konqueror is my File Manager of choice. It installed without problems, in the normal way. I opened the program, and reset the profile as filemangement, as usual, and went to reset the view option to 'detailed' view. However the only options available were Terminal Emulator, FSV and Cervisia. On the laptop, on which I'm writing this the options are icons, detailed and compact with the others less cervisia. I've had the problem before, and have no idea how it was solved then. Now, I have it again, and as before, I've no idea how to restore the more logical choices. Any ideas, anyone?. Frankly, if the profile is File management, I can't see why terminal Emulator should be there. Cervisiam I tried a few times to see what it did, and it invariably crashed the machine. FSV, with any but a few files is almost incomprehensible

How exactly do you "reset" the profile ? How do you start konqueror in the first place?
Also, is this a fresh /home or did you import your old settings?

The old 'home' disappeared entirely, so this is a new fresh build, from scratch. It was launched from the application launcher>internet>konqueror. Since a web viewer was not required, I went to Settings> Load view profile, selected File Management. And got the cutailed set of views in my post. However, in writing this piece, I went throught he whole procedure, to get it right, and lo', the correct options are now there. I've chaanged nothing, Nothing has been added or removed, and the problem is gone. So sorry to have wasted your time, but the situation, for some eight hours, was as I described.. It may well be that I cannot remember how I resolved the probllem last time, because it resolved itself after a period of time.
