Firefox 31 [Solved]

I'm sure I'm not alone in my frustration with Firefox For anyone interested, I've posted a 31. In my opinion the continual addition of bells and whistles to the thing has finally resulted in a facility which is to my mind, unusable.. So, I've deleted it and in it's place I've put vers 24. I've no particular reason to use v24. It just turned out to be available. My problem, now, is the Updates keeps prompting me to update to Firefox 31 If I decline the option, it simply comes back a few seconds later. Is there any way of turning off this particular update, whilst accepting all normal updates. I could, of course delete it from the system, and install it in the User Space. Which I've done before. But that was usually to get a later version not yet available in the repositories. For anyone interested, I've posted a comment in the Firefox forum, on the matter.

Thanks, Jim. That seems to have done the trick. One less thing to drive me up the wall!

You're aware that Firefox 24 will receive no further security or bugfix updates? Good luck with that ...

That's a risk I'm prepared to take. What I'm not prepared to accept is this bug ridden and unusable thing called Firefox 31. I've spent hours trying to get rid of the rubbish I don't want or need and I'm totally fed up with it.. So I'll find one that works and stick ith it. I have found that the bug with two taps on the back button, and one on the forward button to get you one page back is still on this version. Is this a 'feature'? I think not. I did find a cure, but for the life of me, I can't find it again. To me the PC is a tool, no more. And a tool which fails to do the job is not the tool for me.

I've not ried it on this build yet, but it looks like the thing I did before
