bluetooth mouse does not persist after boot

Postby daniewicz » Oct 26th, '14, 22:11

Fresh install of Mageia 4 on a 2008 MacPro. Bluetooth mouse works fine. After a reboot the mouse will not work, requiring me to remove the mouse and reinstall. Suggestions?

Reinstall what? Do you meant re-plug the mouse or do you mean reinstall Mageia?
What desktop environment do you use?

I am using KDE. I am referring to removing the mouse using System Settings --> Bluetooth and then using Add Device to bring the mouse back.

For better clarity I am attaching two screenshots.

After removing and adding the device (mouse), both symbols are now green and the mouse functions.

That happens on my system too, exactly as you describe, but I'm using it, because the mouse of the Microsoft optical wheel mouse and keyboard combi mouse skips and jumps. So I'm actually using a Microsoft WiFi keyboard and mouse with USB dongle and the old HP blue tooth mouse with dongle so the constellation of my USB sockets didn't quite work. The apply button is greyed out on my app too you think that's the fault?
Now I've assembled a GA 320M-H AMD Chip and an ASUS Geforce GT 710

Is it possible to click on the mouse and click on Disconnect button? Seems to me either the automatic reconnect doesn't work, or a Reconnect button should be added.
I'd suggest you better ask about this in KDE forums: https://forum.kde.org/ after checking https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=62195
Or maybe you just need to adjust the default bluetooth settings via bluetoothctl or similar.

Can't help as I've never used a bluetooth mouse (and probably would never do that - normal wireless and wired work just fine).
