Can't set resolution to my laptop native resolution

So after installing mageia I tried to change the resolution to 2880x1620 which is my laptop native resolution but this resolution is not one of the options..
I'm pretty new to linux and the same thing happened when I installed Deepin OS ..

Is there something I can do to fix this? I wanted to have a main Linux OS but if I can't have my native resolution its worthless..

the options I have there go from 2560x1600 to 2560x1920 to 3840x1920 without going through mine..

It may be a case of you not have the correct driver installed. Do you know which graphics gpu you have? eg ATI, Nvidia, AMD APU, intel GPU etc?
