Hi,
I just installed the latest and greatest Mageia 4.
Wanted to install gambas, and did so. Result: When I try to run it, gambas just stops. Nothing.
I need an rdp client. I've use remmina before, so installed it. Has no option for rdp, it did under Linux Mint. What kind of rdp client doesn't support rdp?
Any help on these issues would be appreciated, esp. re: gambas. I can boot into windows for rdp.
TIA

gambas launches here and seems to be fully functional
At which point does it "just stop"?
How did you install it?
The Mageia repo's include remmina-plugins-rdp
Are you sure that you have configured the software sources correctly?

When I try to open Gambas3, I get a little bouncing gambas icon, after some seconds it goes away. The IDE doesn't show up, and the icon on the task bar also goes away. No error message, it tries to start, and fails. I installed the 3.5 version, via the package manager, maybe I should see if 3.4.x is available?
I will take a look at the info you gave me for Remmina. I have used it in the past, and do remember having the same problem.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Jim,
I got Remmina working. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled, being careful to get the versions correct and the i586 vs. x64 stuff all the same. Works like a charm. My initial install was done in the wee hours, last night, and I probably wasn't paying attention.
I'm going to do the same thing with Gambas3.

I got Gambas3 going. Same problem as with Remmina: My initial install included a mix of i586 and x64 components. Uninstalled all of it, then reinstalled, using the x64 stuff exclusively.
Moral of the story? Don't do important things at 3 in the morning
