Unable to use sudo in terminal

Postby yencc5211 » Aug 26th, '14, 18:31

Hello all,

I just installed mageia 4 onto my laptop, and I have been running the Cinnamon desktop. When I try running a command to add google chrome to my system (which I find is easier to do than downloading the actual package) from the terminal, I get the message "bash: sudo: command not found" I'm fairly new to linux so any help is greatly appreciated.

sudo is not configured on default Mageia systems. To execute commands as root, become root in a terminal:
Code: Select all
su -
and enter the root password, when asked.

You can then execute the commands given in the MAQeia

For some installations sudo is not even installed by default at all. For configuration you may want to look at https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Configuring_sudo
