I was going to file a bug report, until i decided it's quite possible that I'm missing something so I'll ask here first.

I installed Mageia, updated it, realized I didn't have the "media sources for install and update" set up properly, so I did that, and did another update.
Next, I decided to install flash player as well as its KDE plugin. the player plugin installed ok. the KDE plugin, I had trouble with.

flash-player-plugin-kde is a package in the official nonfree repository. Two updates are also available in the nonfree updates repository. When I try to install the core package, I cannot.
The software management gui is not very helpful... neither for the base package, nor its update.
Code: Select all
Sorry, the following package cannot be selected:

- flash-player-plugin-kde-11.2.202.335-1.mga4.nonfree.i586

Code: Select all
Sorry, the following package cannot be selected:

- flash-player-plugin-kde-11.2.202.394-1.mga4.nonfree.i586 (due to unsatisfied flash-player-plugin[== 11.2.202.394-1.mga4.nonfree])

By using urpmi in the terminal I got some additional details:

Code: Select all
# urpmi flash-player-plugin-kde -vv
getting lock on urpmi

The following package cannot be installed because it depends on packages
that are older than the installed ones:
flash-player-plugin-kde-11.2.202.394-1.mga4.nonfree
Continue installation anyway? (Y/n) Y
unlocking urpmi database
unlocking rpm database
While some packages may have been installed, there were failures.

Some additional information:
My installation is the default KDE for 32-bit / i586 processor

So.... what do I do next?

You are trying to install an old version of the plugin. Are you certain that you have the media sources configured correctly?

https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Installing_a ... rrectly.3F

If you do have the correct sources activated, and have updated your system, then install the most recent versions of the packages, which are:

flash-player-plugin-11.2.202.400-1.mga4.nonfree
flash-player-plugin-kde-11.2.202.400-1.mga4.nonfree

Thanks Jim!

I went ahead & removed all my sources & clicked the add button to get a fresh set, and I made sure the following were enabled: Core Release, Core Updates, Nonfree Release, Nonfree Updates, Tainted Release, Tainted Updates. No updates were available.

flash-player-plugin-kde still only shows versions 11.2.202.335 and 11.2.202.394 in the Install & Remove Software gui.
urpmi tries to install 11.2.202.394-1 as well.

I went ahead & Googled the package as well and I can see there is an updated version available to Mageia... so I tried to select another mirror for Nonfree Updates, but the edit menu wasn't very helpful.

EDIT:
Ok, I'm adding a new media mirrror to the mirror list... I'll update this when that gets done

EDIT 2:
Ok, I fixed it by downloading the kernel.org ftp mirror's list.
Thanks Jim!
I speculate maybe one or 2 that were being selected by default and that I tried manually didn't have an updated package list yet.

How do I mark this as solved?

Please show the output of
Code: Select all
urpmq --list-media active --list-url

Please mark the thread accordingly by editing the topic of the first post and prefix it by [SOLVED], thanks

It's just going to show the kernel.org ones now. I deleted all the others I had tried yesterday.
