[DONE] Is there any way to install KVM on Mageia?

Hi there,
After switching from Ubuntu to OpenSuse and getting impressed by KDE.
Switched from Fedora to Mageia. Liking it pretty much.
(Discovered that MCC is written in Perl instead for Example, like in OpenSuse Yast is rewritten in RoR, and heard Fedora uses some Python (although heard/my impression was RH used RoR heavily to. Which i like to.)).

So was playing with OMV for a view last days. And now wanted to test some visualization on this Mageia installation i have.
But google didn’t tell me anything about installing KVM on Mageia. And the package manager didn’t show anything eather.

Only found this: http://blog.xen.org/index.php/2013/06/1 ... on-mageia/

Is it like Mageia is so jong that there is no KVM in repos yet?
I find it actually pretty fun.

But is there any way to install KVM on Mageia?
Or have i been googling just a tiny littlebit not enough? :)

thanks in advance,
BH

For what did you search? libvirt, virt-viewer, virt-manager and qemu are available from Mageia repos.
KVM support is also enabled in the kernel config:
Code: Select all
[doktor5000@Mageia4 backports-3.15.1-1]$ zgrep CONFIG_KVM /proc/config.gz
CONFIG_KVM_GUEST=y
# CONFIG_KVM_DEBUG_FS is not set
CONFIG_KVM_APIC_ARCHITECTURE=y
CONFIG_KVM_MMIO=y
CONFIG_KVM_ASYNC_PF=y
CONFIG_KVM=m
CONFIG_KVM_INTEL=m
CONFIG_KVM_AMD=m
# CONFIG_KVM_MMU_AUDIT is not set
CONFIG_KVM_DEVICE_ASSIGNMENT=y

Check e.g. http://wiki.qemu.org/KVM#qemu-kvm_fork_ ... EMU_now.29 why there's no more separate qemu-kvm package.
