Mageia 4 on HP 6730b

Hello

i wanted to install mageia 4 on a laptop (HP 6730b) but I have problems.

The problem is that the installation process stops somewhere during the activation of the GUI (I think).

I have tried multiple installation media (USB - DVD with 4GB/1,4GB ISO) and tried to change the boot parameters.
it has an Intel graphical card and i forced the boot parameters with xdriver=intel and even blacklisted the others.

In the not so quiet mode, it stopped at the line for Graphical Interface and in other occasions, it frooze the screen (2 blue color bands of 4cm / 2inch).

I can install other distributions (like ubuntu or fedora) with no problem.

Does somebody has an answer to this behaviour?
I really would like to try this distribution.

Mario

im assuming you are trying mageia 4.

try mageia 3, it could be that there is a hardware issue that

the mageia 4 kernel is having an issue with.

the difference between mageia 3 and 4 is so small from a "user expirience point of view" if you are trying it to see if its
what you want, then mageia 3 or 4 will answer that for you.

I dont know that specific laptop, but most modern intel based laptops are ivybridge based or newer and are of a similar design.
edit, ive just read the spec....its a 2010 model 2.27GHz Core 2 Duo CPU, ddr2 upto 8 gig , Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet Controller, Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, fingerprint reader, and TPM module, nothing there that jumps out as troublesome.

mine works fine with mga3 , ive not tried 4 on it yet, as im still evaluating 4.

definity worth a try, im very pleased with mga3 and use it exclusivly as my choice, I dont use any other desktop, except at work, where they
force us to use a corperate windows 7 desktop.

for servers however i choose, redhat/centos
