Hi all. I installed the full package of mageia earlier today on a 32 bit laptop and i have been using the KDE desktop environment. When i tried to install a program the terminal would not recognise my password, although the password works for installing software on the mageia control centre. If anyone could help with this, it would be greatly appreciated.
N.b. if anyone knows of any software that can record the desktop that is compatible with mageia, it would of help also.
Regards
johnny

You should have two passwords. The MCC will want your root password, your normal login will want your ordinary user password.
I use recordMyDesktop for screen captures. Works well for me. To get sound, after starting either qt-recordmydesktop or gtk-recordmydesktop (they differ only in user interface), click on the Advanced button, then the sound tab, and change the device from whatever it says (default, I think) to "pulse" (without the quotes). Save this configuration and enable sound by clicking on the checkbox next to "sound quality" on the gui.

Thanks for the reply. I will be reinstalling it again, as i could not fix the issue. I used the same password for both the root and login.

Out of curiosity, what was the command you used?

It was to download software (recordmydesktop), i forget what command i used. I think it was maybe a glitch/bug that may have accord, but i am inexperienced with linux distributions at the moment so i cannot be sure.
