Cinnamon to KDE - SOLVED

I installed Mageia 4 with the Cinnamon desktop because of capacity issues. I have upgraded and now want to switch to using KDE plasma. Do I need to reinstall to make the switch?

Thanks

You can have as many desktop environments installed as disk space permits and switch between them.

Installing task-kde4 then selecting it at the login prompt should be all that is needed.

To switch between desktop environments once installed, you may want to look at https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Display_Mana ... _Selection

Thanks Gents -

All went well except:

Code: Select all
While some packages may have been installed, there were failures.
Some requested packages cannot be installed:
kipi-plugins-expoblending-3.5.0-3.mga4.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied hugin)
kipi-plugins-panorama-3.5.0-3.mga4.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied hugin)

Does this matter?

Only if you want to use the kipi plugins - http://userbase.kde.org/KIPI
Although this indicates that the mirror you're using is not in sync or misses some packages.

Please show the output of
Code: Select all
urpmq --list-media active

You want to remove them and add a complete set of repositories: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Software_man ... ia_sources
