A newbie question:
The entire section on software update on the 'Mageia control center' is missing in my installation.
How can I create/recreate it. (without using it or rpmdarke ... also missing but urpmi and rpm are present).

I would try reinstalling rpmdrake
this contains most of the files including /usr/sbin/MageiaUpdate which is the scrip/command that is run.
use urpmi --replacepkgs rpmdrake

How you have installed mageia ? rpmdrake and mcc should be installed by default with all install medias and desktops.

Thanks, urpmi --replace-pkgs
worked with some problems getting and reading the DVD. It was originally set up with the DVD from version 3 and I hoped that the update to version 4 would fix the problem (it did not). But this has, thanks very much.

Sometimes it gets quite irritating when we are having a software in our device but at the same time it isn't working for us the way its necessary to be working.Currently it has to be good at the overcome those bugs are other errors are more then bad.
