I installed Dropbox using the Control Centre and it seemed to load ok. However when I tried to launch Dropbox, the icon appeared briefly in the notification bar bottom left then disappeared. I then attempted an instal from a terminal which was ok for the first command: cd ~ && wget -O - "https://www.dropbox.com/download?plat=lnx.x86" | tar xzf -
but the second command: ~/.dropbox-dist/dropboxd returned the error: Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
Can anyone please help.

Hi ozky, I know this is a basic question but what is the install format to be used in the Konsole?

Hi Doktor5000
I installed canberra lib ok and the error was gone as you say, thanks for that. So both scripts on the Dropbox install website executed ok. However Dropbox still did not run. The icon appeared in the notification bar bottom right for about 5 seconds then disappeared! Can anyone who has succesfully installed Dropbox on Mageia 32 bit please help?

Are you using KDE with default icon theme oxygen? If this is true try to switch icon theme, it works for me.

Hi napcok
It's working at last!! You are officially brilliant, mate.
For the record, I changed the icon theme from default KDE to Gnome.

Best regards
