mageia goes on emergency mode with windows dual boot

Postby geg » Mar 5th, '14, 13:57

HI guys,
i'm very new to linux , and of course i'm learning mageia and i'm not skill at all, .... i have got mageia 4 64bits on dual boot with w 8.1, asus motherbrd, the problem is mageia starts rarely, in most cases nothing at all, during installation i see a shot which tell me (...someting of this frases) drack in not able to manage partition because it is very damaged, and tell me if i want to loose partitions, i choose no , because i'm scared to loose also windows patition,... anyway when i try to boot it, goes on emergency mode, ... after some test, i find the loggin file which tell me i've got some api warnings with 0x0000000000000000f000x000000000000f01f system I0 conflicts with region \_sb_pci0.sbus.smbi 1 c20120725/utaddress -251 ....... and red errors like: failed to mount /media/win_d , end dependency failed for local file system,... dependency failed for mark the need to relabel after reboot...
someone told me the problem could be uefi efi windows protocoll, but i have blocked secure boot from bios ... but nothing to do,
i hope someone can help me, thinking i'm mid-windows user  thanks in advance.

Hi

Your windows 8.1 has likely set HDD partitions under GPT. Also likely is your mobo bios is set to UEFI, a Microsoft thing.
Mageia 4 is able to deal with UEFi but you will probably need to read this https://wiki.mageia.org/en/UEFI_how-to.

sorry I cant be of more help.

It will. For normal URLs not containing special characters like # even no need to use url tags.
