[SOLVED]Compile VMware Workstation 10 in Mageia 4 failed

Postby janpihlgren » Feb 26th, '14, 11:42

After unsuccessful upgrading from Mageia 3 to Mageia 4 I have to do a clean installation of Mageia 4 (x86-64).
Then I lost my VMware Workstation 9 so I first tried to reinstall it mu that also was unsuccessful. Then I tried to install VMware Workstation 10.
I used the command ./VMware-Workstation-Full-10.0.1-1379776.x86_64.bundle --console
After that I have to compile Virtual Machine Monitor, Virtual Network Device, Virtual Machine Communication Interface. All three failed. Running depmod OK. Starting VMware Service failed.
I get a message that will tell me to look in /tmp/vmware-root/vmware-modconfig-18766.log.
I have red it but doesn't understand it. The logfile isquite long so I wouldn't show it here for now but will show it if anyone want it.

I am running kernel 3.12.9-server-1.mga4.
My laptop is ThinkPad W701.
I always get in trubble with VMware Workstation everytime I have to upgrade Mageia. I'm not smart enough to solve the problem myself and that's why I search for help. I hope there will be someone that have a solution.

EDIT 20140303.
After reinstall Mageia 4 from the beginning it is impossible to install VMware Workstation.
EDIT 20140305.
The problem is solved. The problem seemed to be wrong command.
