Hi all,

Have attempted to install G.E. into my M4.-64, a clean install
the usual suspects were also required ,libglibc + lib64glibc + lsb-core-lib64.

unfortunately there were some new suspects to add to the list :libfontconfig.so.1, libXrender.so.1, libSM.so.6.
adding these manually Google Earth now runs fine here.

hope this helps anyone with this aspect of trouble shooting google earth.

Problem: You install the default version of Google Earth Stable (currently (6.x) ) after adding the Google Earth repositories as shown in MAQeia , and it installs and runs fine, but when you search for a location in the Google Earth search box it returns "invalid http request".

Fix: As root, delete the libcurl that comes with Google Earth, forcing it to use the system libcurl.
