Computers: Sony Vaio VPCSE 64 bit about 2 years old; and a custom built 64 bit system, both laptops.
On both computers we are having formatting problems with Libre Office. On the Sony formatting worked perfectly in Mageia 2 on the other computer it worked perfectly in Mageia 3.
Specifically on the Sony I cannot format cells. I can enter data into them, but changing the cell from a plain number into a date (or anything else) does not work at all. Data can be entered and saved into the same cells. Formatting can be deleted (back to default) if I use the Delete key, but changing the same cell to new formatting does not work. I checked permissions on the documents in question and I appear to have the correct permissions. The program will allow me to go to the appropriate place to format the cell, from both a right click and the toolbar, it allows me to select the change I want, but it does not excecute.
Both computers were loaded via a downloaded CD, each computer had the CD downloaded seperately. (So two different CD's and two seperate downloads, on different days, were used). We have downloaded all updates to date (Feb 15th 9am PST). Tainted repositories are enabled.
The VAIO has been re-loaded three seperate times in the learning curve, the last time because I attempted to un-install Libre Office so I could download a fresh copy from Libre Office (I did not do so). That broke my computer completely to the point that I couldn't even open Dolphin and taking me into a terminal only screen when I rebooted. Since I don't code, that was a problem. Mageia 4 is reloaded, again.
The problem with Libre Office has remained consistent through each load. On my partner's computer he is unable to format some things in text documents, with the same basic problem, he can reach and apparently change the formatting, but the change does not actually execute.
Errr, Help!
