I upgraded from Mageia 3 to Mageia 4 and it looks good- I am missing the icons in the context menue in Thunar. No icons (not mine nor the standard) are displayed when I do a right click on a file. The text (and the functionality) is there.

The icons are displayed when I select used defined functions.

Since the thunar-standard actions are also affected (no icons there either) I do suspect a installation problem I created.

Any idea/suggestion/workaround?

Can you create a new user and login as that user to see if the problem appears there, too?

Created a new user- logged of mine- logged in the new user- same phenomena (no icons in context but space left of the text reserved). I also created a user defined action and that shows very same behaviour.

Sorry cannot help with XFCE that much :/

I am not using XFCE- I am using Thunar in place of Dolphin- in KDE

I've also got thunar installed, and it works nicely - although I prefer dolphin.

User defined actions. I have a lot of them and when I came from UBUNTU (with Nautilus) I chose thunar (I did know that from a netbook)

I use them based on extension as well as based on folder - except my fav editor: kedit (mimic of mainframe xedit)

I assume nicely = with icons

Mine work nicely now too- and I have no idea why- I gave up on that after I had xfce for a short time as display manager and saw that thunar works there flawless. I switched back because I did not like it - It did not work after the switch back (and IPL) - since I had more pressing problems (printer does not work) I gave up- only to find later that now it displays the icons- could have been the activities with the printer- could be an update of mageia (which I applied)- I can not tell.

Well, dolphin has a lot of those too - you can enable some of them in preferences, download more directly within Dolphin or easily create your own, which is what I've done too. FWIW also nautilus allows for that.

I mean the area in the center- esp the lower part- that is possible in nautilus too (but way more work than in Thunar)
