Steps to repair DBus initialization error?

Still, still, still trying out how to work in Linux/Magia. Upgraded to 4 from 3. Problems with LibreOffice (disappearing text) so tried to install OpenOffice on my own - fail. Installed Calligra. Also some desktop widgets.

Error message: Error while initializing DBus: Disabling the service

Can someone provide a list of steps to take to correct this situation? I've read through all the posts and cannot make sense of it

Thanks

How did you upgrade exactly? Which of the methods did you choose from https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_4_Rel ... m_Mageia_3

For your issue, please have a look at viewtopic.php?p=44095#p44095

1. I upgraded using the button that appeared in the taskbar/panel. That went smoothly.

2. Looked at the other topic, removed KSnapshot through the control center, restarted, no error message so far!

3. The other topic speaks of removing orphans; is something I need to do?

Many thanks

Uhmm, ksnapshot is the KDE screenshot tool and totally unrelated, Are you sure, maybe that was only a typo meant to say draksnapshot? That's what caused the dbus errors.

It's not about the whole thread that's why I posted a link to the post about draksnapshot, which includes a link to the bugreport.
And no, removing orphans is not something you need to do.
