[SOLVED] M4 - new launcher on Cinnamon desktop

Hello. My wife installed Mageia 4 with Cinnamon. It was a clean install from the full DVD. I tried to put a new launcher on the desktop so I can configure it to start a program from wine. But nothing happens. Right click the desktop -> Create a new launcher here... -> and nothing happens. Anyone with Cinnamon? Any other way to create a shortcut for a program installed with wine?

Programs installed via wine will appear in the start menu under Wine -> Programs.
Maybe you can add it to desktop via start menu?

Yes, I thought so but there is no "Programs" amongst Wine menus. It has everything else but no Programs.

I'm trying to make a screenshot but that's not working either. Maybe no screen capture application is installed. Any recomended?

No clue for cinnamon - maybe gnome-screenshot or shutter (although the latter is a bit heavier, but more feature-rich).
I'll switch over to cinnamon and take a look for the launcher.

EDIT: OK, can reproduce so far. Right click on desktop -> create new launcher, nothing happens. No clue why as I'm not into GNOME/Cinnamon, although quick search doesn't yield anything useful. Only that Ubuntu people hint to something like https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Unity ... sktopFiles

But, you can do it from the start-menu, I'll show you with an example menu entry for wine. Simply right-click it, and it should be obvious:

(even though it's in german, should be comprehensible ;) )

I managed to do it. When I opened the menu configuration the entry was there and was checked, but it wasn't visible in the menu. So I copied it into another subcategory and it appeared there.
Thank you doktor5000.
