I tried to install Quake Live and plugins, but it says:

Game launcher could not be installed because it is not compatible with firefox 4.0.1.

Well, why do you post this here and not at Quake Live forums?
But anyways, you could always try to unzip the .xpi file for the launcher, and changing
the supported Firefox version to which Firefox you're running.

Yes, this is a know problem of Quake Live. It would be easily fixed if the Quake Live developers had a look at it, but they seem not to bother.

Actually, Quake Live is completely compatible with Firefox 4.0.1, and even Firefox 5.0. The fact is that the install script is broken, and want Firefox 3.x or lower.

You can have a look at this page to install Quake Live in Firefox 4.0.1: http://www.quakelive.com/forum/showthre ... xes-inside
You just have to extract an XML file from the installer, edit two or three strings, and archive it again. Everything is explained on the forum topic I linked.

You should be able to install Quake Live if you do what is said on the forum I linked.
Though, if you have a legit version of Quake3's data files, you can play it on Mageia with ioQuake3. You just have to install ioQuake3 through Mageia Control Center and to copy the .pak files in /home/<your user>/.q3a/baseq3/ or something like that. You can find more info on http://ioquake3.org/

I don't know QuakeWorld though, and I saw that there is a Unix port. I'll have a look at it.
