Pidgin 2.10.9 is already available in sources. It fixes some issues from 2.10.8. Is there a way to get version 2.10.9 into repository?

Well, you may want to have a look at https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12468 and mention that there are fixes in 2.10.9 for 2.10.8
