Integrated backup program

Hello,

This is basically a repost of my mailing-list question. It's been over 48 hrs without a response, so I'm trying the forums.

Do we have a preferred/integrated backup program yet?

I have used drakbackup in the past. It was simple to configure and had
few dependencies (no sql databases). The files were also simple gzipped
tar archives, which made getting a file out easy, but very time
consuming, no matter where I was.

I noticed that drakbackup was missing from the repositories (didn't
check backports or testing) and the "icon" for it is gone from the
Control Center. We we be "porting" it over?

I wouldn't mind seeing an updated drakbackup program, maybe using dar
instead of tar. Dar is much faster than tar at getting information out
of a large (>1GiB) archive.

Thank you,

Jeff

drakbackup has been deprecated as it is no longer being developed.

There are other backup programs in the repo's. One which I've seen recommended is luckybackup, although I've never used it myself. (I use rsync scripts.)
