I'm trying to connect to my mageia gnome desk top from one of my Ubuntu 10.10 machines & get an error
Avahi resolver failure
I was trying to trouble shoot
I noticed there is no link on the mageia.org home page to bugzilla
I would expect to find one on the support tab

No, it's in "Contribute" -> "Triaging"
AFAIK this (and more about the navigation) is under discussion.

Straight to Bugzilla:

Maybe you should first describe a bit in detail WHAT you were doing HOW before writing a bug report, so we can try to help you first.

which one?
https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1965
https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1966 [more of an observation, about ways to improve the install]
https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1967
just got chided about posting the result of an action
if there are formal guidelines about what should be posted on bugs, a few lines of instruction would make it clear :D

I'm trying to help as I can
my thread here is part of that effort
part of testing is looking at things with noob eyes

The first one, which this thread is about. Also the bugreport is pretty useless, as you didn't even write which program
you used, in which way you connected to the other pc, like by computername or by ip. Context is king!

BTW: The second bugreport is also none, AFAICR the message says something like this:
"remove media, close the tray and press any button (or Strg+J)" or something the like.
And you didn't even write which media you used to install, live-cd, dvd, dual-arch-cd ...

Avahi/zeroconf works for me to/from Mageia and Mandriva using konqueror, dolphin, and nautilus.

Have you checked if you have a firewall active?

1965 I added more information as you suggested

1966 if I remove the install cd as indicated, it breaks the install, I think grub isn't finished installing

thanks
I'm suggesting that the information should be more accessible within the bug reporting process
it can be intimidating to file bugs, the google help system works pretty well & weeds out most of the repetitive questions
I understand that lots of developer hours went into that kind of system & so it wouldn't be possible here
just a goal....
