Hello! I'm a new user of Mageia trying to learn the ropes of this distro. I'm a web developer / hobbyist programmer and I've hit a brick wall with something.

I have apache with PHP installed and working perfectly, but I also need some variant of SQL installed so I can work with databases. Do you have any suggestions for the ideal package/setup of SQL on Mageia 3? I've searched the forums and can't find anything very specific.

I realize this is kind of a noob question, but I'm coming back to Linux from practically years of not using it seriously. I've been.. shall we say, spoiled by the windows world. Thank you for your help! :)

There is the MariaDB.
You can find it in Mageia Controll Center - Program - Install & Remove programs.
Choose mariadb and mariadb-client.
You may also install mysql-workbench
