Mageia 3 (64) - problem with flashvideo in fulscreen mode

Postby fonon » Nov 12th, '13, 13:53

I have a problem with flashvideo in Firefox and Opera browsers. Adobe plug-in worked good with the flash video played in window mode (window in the web page). In a full-screen mode the system hanged up. I tried to use alternative flash plug-in (flash-player-plugin-11.2.202.310-1.mga3.nonfree.x86_64.rpm) but the video was not played at all (the browser demanded Adobe plug-in). After reinstall Adobe flash plug-in both browsers still demand Adobe flash plug-in to play flash video.
1) How to restore Adobe plug-in?
2) How to play flash videos on-line in full-screen mode?
f.

PS. With the new plug-in 11.2.202.327 Firefox play flash-video again in "window mode" only. In full-screen mode the video stream hangs up but the audio is played properly.

What do you mean by alternative plugin flash-player-plugin-11.2.202.310-1.mga3.nonfree.x86_64.rpm ?
The Mageia packaged version is the preferred one.

Please have a look at our MAQeia for flash player plugin: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=880
and maybe in viewtopic.php?f=41&t=5337

Not original, current Adobe plug-in. The browser indicates this plug-in as old that must be replaced by new one. The video isn't played.

Can you at least post an example link to a video which shows the problem so others can try to reproduce?
Also what graphics card do you have and what graphics driver do you use?

All videos I tried to play (for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNe0ZUD19EE) and net tv (unfortunately, registration + fee needed). The graphic card is ATI Radeon HD-5xxx. I tried to use both drivers - from Mageia 3 install dvd and newest by AMD/ATI.

Works fine here with Firefox 24.0.1 ESR and flash-player-plugin-11.2.202.310-1.mga3.nonfree both in windowed mode and fullscreen.

But not in my computer. Do you check it with 64-bit OS? And what's with new Adobe 11.2.202.327 plug-in? Probably there is a problem with graphic card driver. What do you suggest?

PS. There is a problem with a screensaver (I tested the clock). The picture isn't displayed smoothly.

Yes.

fonon wrote:And what's with new Adobe 11.2.202.327 plug-in?

Yes. As that's only a security update, will most likely not change anything in the way flashplayer works.

Don't use the drivers directly from ATI. Which driver from the Mageia install DVD did you use? And which DVD did you use at all?

Keep that in the separate thread. As a general hint and golden rule: Please only one problem per thread.

I tried various drivers, because the original driver (suggested by installer) doesn't work properly. I used Mageia version 3 (May 2013) DVD 64-bit downloaded from Mageia's web page.
Now graphic card works properly except screen-saver and flash video in full-screen mode. The system infos:

I don't think you are right. Both symptoms are probably the result of the same problem with graphic system.

The flawless on-line reproduction of video streams in full screen mode is very important for me. What driver should I install and how to do it properly?

Alt+Shift+F12 turns off desktop effects. The movies are played flawless. Unfortunately, screensavers (the clock for example) aren't.
