Started last week-end. Mga3. I boot as far as the login dialog, then everything freezes or runs extremely slowly. I can type my login details, but can't hit Enter or click the button. I click the login menu, and from the menu, select Console Login. Graphical login restarts immediately, and everything is then fine.

Now it won't misbehave. Wouldn't it!
I forgot to mention I was using Mageia 3's Grub2. I have regenerated the menu as a precaution, and will allow a few days' soak test.
