In Mageia 3 I click on the Dolphin icon and it takes Dolphin more than 10 seconds to lauch and show my files. Has anybody experienced this and knows why Dolphin is so slow to start ?

The latest round of KDE updates seems to have messed with the performance of Dolphin, for sure, because I have been having problems with Dolphin ever since. Actually, 10 seconds doesn't sound drastic enough for me, but Dolphin seems to freeze on me, I am unable to click icons within it, and even have to X out of it forcing to terminate the application. It was working perfect until the latest KDE updates were pushed out.

Dolphin works fine here. Anything changed from the default config, any bookmarks in the places panel added, maybe some network shares or so?
Do you have Nepomuk and Akonadi still enabled?

I have not changed anything recently in the default configuration. I have no idea what Nepomuk and Akonadi are and pay no attention to them. Are they supposed to be disabled ? If so how do I do that ?

Turning off "Desktop Search File Indexing" and then rebooting fixed the problem. Thanks !
