[SOLVED] Backup solution for Mageia 3

As a long time Mandriva user I always used drakbackup to perform incremental or differential daily backups as well as weekly full backups. I see that drakbackup is not included in MGA3. I also noticed that the 'snapshot' utility is included.

I set up the snapshot utility, although there appears to be no scheduling component nor manual activation capability. And no snapshot has yet been created. Do I need to go in to a cron utility and create some sort of job using script commands?

In light of this, what is the recommend approach/utility for backing up an MGA3 installation?

Thanks.

I think you're near. If you're familiar with CLI take a look of /etc/rsnapshot.conf and edit it according to your needs.

Hi,
You could use Luckybackup, scheduling is possible.

filip - Thanks, I've got a test backup running now. I'll have to read up on the various options. Looks rather complex, but since it uses rsync under the covers it must be doing something right.

Lebarhon - I'm checking out luckybackup now. It looks promising! Thanks.

Will be using LuckyBackup. Hope it doesn't require luck...
