Hadoop with Mageia??

Hello

I've just installed Mageia 3 and I would like to try hadoop.
I've been searching and found that Hortonworks offers packages for Red Hat, CentOS and SLES. Cloudera offers the same and adds support for Ubuntu and Debian.
Which of those would work best with Mageia? Any rpm?
Any repository with support for Mageia? (I find none from Mageia package manager).
Or maybe a tarball?

I've also found an old hadoop rpm file for Mageia 2. Would it be better?

thanks

Historically, I have generally been successful installing Redhat RPMs when Mandriva/Mandrake RPMs were not available.

Given the amount of time and the number of versions since Mandrake forked from Redhat, and given the recent move to systemd, I have no idea if this success will continue, but I would still pick a Redhat RPM as the most likely candidate if a Mageia RPM did not exist.

Try it and let us know, why don't you.
