[SOLVED] Second simultaneously logged user have limited KDE

Hi there.

This desktop (Dell Optiplex 280 + RAM + SSD) is used by my wife and me. Well mostly me but sometimes I give her opportunity ;). Not interrupting our work flow to much the one who first start KDE stay logged in. The problem is that second simultaneously logged user can't use any program opened in it's own previously saved KDE session. For example icon for any program bellow does show preview of it's open windows but they don't respond on left click. As I use Kate for my php and translating work that is extremely annoying and time consuming.

I suppose that this is connected with plasma-desktop but restarting it doesn't help. Probably Intel driver is involved also. I tried FrameBuffer driver with the same results. I also tried to change driver to vesa to test that but got "no screens found" error.

Few details from Xorg log when I test new configuration in mcc.
Code: Select all
Screen 0 deleted because of no matching config section.
(II) UnloadModule: "vesa"
(EE) Device(s) detected, but none match those in the config file.

Fatal server error:
no screens found

I would like to get more and clear informations about this issue before I report a bug.

Any help is appreciated!

EDIT: Small clarification about stored KDE session.
EDIT 2: I installed Mageia 3 32bit clean from Mageia-3-i586-DVD.iso

Did you actually set up two separate users each with a unique UID and home directory? A user should not be able to see which applications were loaded by other users. I can't reproduce your problem.

Hi Jim.

Yes. Users have unique home directory and UID but the same GUID to share pictures, documents ...

Sorry for misunderstanding. I clarified my post to show that I was referring to separate and our own sessions.
