[SOLVED] Install LibreOffice packages from mga2 on mga3?

We recently updated a computer from mga2 to mga3, and after doing so LibreOffice began crashing at random, without warning, making it nearly impossible to use. It looks like it's related to the --enable-mergelibs compiler flag that was turned on at some point in the mga3 development process--I've seen people on other forums complain of the same behavior with that culprit, and I've filed a bug report.

But, we still need to use LibreOffice on this computer, and if I can avoid it I'd rather not downgrade the whole computer to mga2. So...my question is, is it possible to install the LibreOffice packages from Mageia 2 onto this Mageia 3 install?

I wouldn't recommend using mga2 Libreoffice. Have you tried installing the upstream packages, does that crash too?

Hi doktor5000,

I installed the RPMs from LibreOffice's download page, and we've had that computer in use all afternoon and evening without a single crash. So, for now at least, we can leave it with mga3 and use the packages they've provided...

Well, follow up on the bugreport, provide more information if necessary, and maybe test updated packages if those are provided.
Please mark the thread accordingly by editing the topic of the first post and prefix it by [SOLVED], thanks.

EDIT: You should also add the information in the bug, that the upstream packages are working fine without crashes.
