Can't install Mageia 3 on an HP Pavillion dv2000 notebook

Hi all,
I've tried to install Mageia 3 on a friend's notebook, an HP Pavillion dv2000, and ended up blocked.

I first tried using the GNOME Live CD, but in live mode or installer mode it fails with a black screen. This looks like a graphics card issue (intel 915M AFAIR). Maybe there are some safe kernel options I wasn't able to find ?

I then tried the Dual CD for installation. It worked better, as I could get the graphical installer to work. However, the installation lasted for ages, failed due to a missing media.cfg at the end of the install, and I endend up with a (non-working) Cauldron install, instead of Mageia 3 ! I noticed that because the greeter at startup featured a "Welcom to Mageia 4!"

So if you have some ideas on how to get a safe video mode for the GNOME Live CD, I'd be more than grateful. Thanks.

For the graphics issue please have a look at https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_2_Err ... rd_drivers
For the media.cfg/Mageia 4 issue, please have a look at http://blog.mageia.org/en/2013/06/09/ne ... installer/
Maybe you downloaded one of the older broken images? In any case, you can still use that, if you don't add any repositories during installation, and add the repositories later on manually.

Thanks for your reply. You're right, I had forgotten about that ISO change, and had the older dual-arch. I'll retry it if I can't get the live CD to work.
